Another mundane moment from our trip that reminds me of what made it so special. Laura and I have an electric car with a petrol/gasoline range extender for backup - which we’ve always referred to as "burning dinosaurs" - so we were delighted to see this gas station had fully embrassed the notion - they even had a kids play area with a big version of their mascot in.

In prep for this trip I’d be concerned about driving through what seemed like wilderness, to someone from such a densely populated country like the UK, and whether we’d struggle to get fuel. That never turned out to be an issue.
