I watched this common crane check on these eggs - or fake eggs, our guide wasn’t sure if they genuine or not. This was another shot after the official session had ended and I was wondering around the park on my own - originally the crane was not on the nest, but it eventually went over, checked the eggs, and sat down. Being not part of the crowd seems to have its advantages.

Common Cranes used to be native to the UK, but were hunted to extinction a few hundred years ago. Now places like wildwood are looking to re-introduce them.
