Taken as we went for a walk through the village and the heavens briefly opened up on us. Ill prepared, we hid under a tree for twenty minutes watching the petrol station people come and go.
I didn’t really get any exciting people photos, but it was a chance to try capture the rain drops falling, which is not something I often get - I think I have to go back to 2011 for the last one that comes to mind.
A nerdy aside about this photo. Normally I upload my pictures to several places, because I’m part of several different photo communities. Usually this all goes smoothly, but uploading this photo anywhere other than my own blog and Flickr was a trial because of the rain! I used my usual export workflow in Lightroom, but the JPEG image was much bigger than normal, I assume because the rain drops add so much noise that it doesn’t compress well, so both the Cambridge Camera Club website and Instagram rejected it, so I had to shrink it down myself and re-upload it there.
