A touched landscape
This is the north rim of The Grand Canyon, which is the less visited side, less obviously touched by human impact, but here you can see the obvious and subtle impact.
I sat on this photo for a while, not quite sure how I feel about it, but recently a friend introduced me to the work of Edward Burtynsky, and his landscape work that shows the impact we’ve had on the land. Whilst obviously not in that league, I feel that his work has let me appreciate this picture more for what it shows and lets your infer.
