my name is mwd: photos

This here is Älgen, my hybrid build guitar that mixes two things I’m passionate about: traditional hand-crafted luthiery and modern digital fabrication techniques.

I used to take build commissions before the pandemic started, and I had to stop that as I couldn’t get into the workshop. Since then I’ve worked on my own designs and improved my skills to the point where I’m now trying to get commissions again, and for that I need some nice photos of the guitars I’ve built. I’m not really a product photographer, but I thought I’d give it a go based on a few tips I’d picked up here and there.

This is one of the better shots from the first attempt. Here I’m using a mix of selective room lighting and a LED fill light to make the guitar stand.
