This is a moose, apparently malting as the weather warms up. It’s such an elegant creature, and both bigger and leaner than you’d imagine from pictures.
Each year we watch Den Stora Älgvanderingen (The Great Moose Migration) on SVT (Swedish public television), where they set up cameras for three weeks at a popular river crossing point as the Meese migrate north in the spring, and you get to watch these elegant beings swim, or this year as spring was late, not swim across the river. So impressive to watch.
Obviously the animals go where they want, photography course or not, and so this photo was the best I got of the creature I most wanted to see. It was very sunny, which made for a pleasant day walking wise, but with the trees made for a challenging photography environment as everything was high contrast.
